Magazine nominated for editorial excellence overall
ASHBURN, Va. – May 23, 2016 – Parks & Recreation magazine, the National Recreation and Park Association’s (NRPA) flagship publication, was selected as a finalist for min’s Magazine Media Awards, which recognize “the very best of the best” in magazine media. The prestigious award nomination, for editorial excellence overall, signifies the magazine’s commitment to providing NRPA members, the field of parks and recreation, and community leaders with quality editorial content that covers the key issues and trends in the park and recreation field and beyond.
“Being selected as a finalist for min’s Magazine Media Awards is an outstanding accomplishment for NRPA and our magazine, Parks & Recreation,” said Gina Mullins-Cohen, VP of Marketing, Communications and Publications, at NRPA. “It is also a testament to the dedication of our creative magazine and editorial staff who worked hard to earn this honorable achievement.”
On June 15 editorial staff will attend an award’s ceremony at the Yale Club in New York City where the final award winners will be announced. If selected, the min’s award will become the most recent notable achievement for the magazine. Parks & Recreation was named Best Monthly Association Magazine for 2015 by Association TRENDS, who also awarded NRPA’s Marketing, Communications and Publications team with the following awards:
- Best Membership Campaign
- Best Commemoration
- Best Convention Program
- Best Video
The departments “Get Out and Walk in Your Local Park” video won top honors with the coveted publisher’s choice award, which recognizes the best of all contest entries.
