The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) applauds the U.S. House of Representatives for passing the Build Back Better Act. The legislation includes significant investments in local parks, including NRPA priorities of funding urban parks and creating a civilian conservation corps.   

NRPA Vice President of Public Policy and Advocacy Elvis Cordova issued the following statement:  

“House passage of the Build Back Better Act represents great progress toward the realization of a civilian conservation corps and providing more equitable funding for urban parks. These forward-thinking programs will provide valuable economic opportunities and increase access to quality public green spaces for many communities throughout our country. They will also provide more sustainable solutions to help communities become more resilient and better address the challenges presented by climate change.  We encourage the Senate to take action on this legislation.”
