Sacramento County Regional Parks - Family Health & Fitness Day event

Join Sacramento County Regional Parks on Saturday, June 8 for a fun-filled day! Regional Parks will be hosting a TON of programs and “parknership events” for the entire community to enjoy. These programs and events will be broken down by region: American River Parkway, Dry Creek Parkway, and Southern County, with virtual activities available as well. Events include Family Fun at Cherry Island Golf Course, Tree Treasure Hunts, Trek the Trails 5k Fun Run/Walk, Sac Republic FC Soccer Clinics, and MORE!

Geary Park Skate Jam is a vibrant, inclusive community event organized by the Ferndale Parks & Recreation Department to celebrate the exciting world of skateboard culture. This much-anticipated skate contest is hosted by Modern Skate & Surf, featuring a wide range of categories for skateboard, BMX, scooters, and inline skating enthusiasts. Competitors of all ages—from spirited kids to seasoned adults—will showcase their skills at the renowned Geary Skatepark in Ferndale. Additional activities include a DJ, youth skateboarding lessons, bounce house, food trucks and more!
Uloma Immigrants’ House - Family Health & Fitness Day event

Join Uloma Immigrants’ House for Family Health & Fitness Day! This event is for families and individuals of all ages to promote health and wellness awareness. This event will encourage participants to stay healthy and fit by providing free glucose and blood pressure screenings, free massages, yoga classes, and consultations with therapists. Uloma Immigrants’ House has also partnered with Dental Care Team to provide free dental services all day long. All activities are free!

City of Hurst - Family Health & Fitness Day event

Bring the whole family and celebrate Family Health & Fitness Day! This event will start with a 1-mile walk/run followed by fun games & challenges. Each 4-person team requires at least one adult 18 or over to participate. Everyone who participates on the day of the event receives a free one-day admission to the Hurst Aquatics Centers. Families who complete the entire challenge are entered into a drawing for a family season pass to the Hurst Aquatics Centers.
Galveston Park Board of Trustees - Sandcastle Days

Attention budding builders – sandcastle builders, that is. Galveston is hosting a free, family-friendly event to help beachgoers create spectacular sandcastles with guidance from a professional. Visitors to East Beach can participate in “Sandcastle Days” to receive free sandcastle building lessons from a professional sandcastle builder. The events will take place at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. on June 8th and every Saturday after that until Labor Day. Lessons are by the water’s edge, straight down from the East Beach Pavilion. Registration is not required.
Galveston Park Board of Trustees - Women in Coastal Science Speaker Series

Join Galveston for their Women in Coastal Science Speaker Series on Saturday, June 8! Be inspired to make a difference. Meet the women who tackle the challenges our coastal environment faces and learn about their personal and professional journeys. The June 8th speaker will be Dr. Kristin Brzeski, a conservation geneticist who conducts research of conservation and wildlife ecology for the Gulf Coast Canine Project.

City of Spokane Parks and Recreation - Tour de Farms
8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Discover lovingly grown and locally owned farms all over Spokane County. The Spokane Farm Corridor and co-sponsor Wheel Sport Bicycles will host the third annual Tour de Farms, a two-wheeled tour of the region’s growers. This is a free, self-guided bike ride. Participating farms are open 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Routes will be suggested to connect participating farms. Riders are encouraged to start at any of the participating locations. In addition to homegrown goods from fruit to fresh-cut blooms, several farms will boast refreshments and entertainment. From 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., a designated farm in each area will host a post-ride party with live music, a food truck, and beers from a local brewer. Participants can also pick up raffle tickets at each farm for a prize drawing to be held during the post-ride event.
City of Spokane Parks and Recreation - 50th Anniversary Historic Walking Tour

Step back in time on a captivating two-hour walking tour of Riverfront Park. Discover the historical significance of Expo '74 and its pivotal role in transforming Spokane's Falls into the cherished Riverfront Park, forever altering the city's landscape. These tours are guided by renowned local historian Chet Caskey, offering a deep dive into the city's transformative history. These complimentary walking tours start and conclude at the Spokane Visitor Information Center, located at the Spokane Falls Boulevard entrance to Riverfront Park, adjacent to the Rotary Fountain. No tickets or reservations are necessary.
