NRPA 2016 Fellowship and Scholarship Award Winners Announced

Young professionals and students recognized for making significant contributions to park and recreation field   

ASHBURN, Va. – June 6, 2016 - The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) is proud to announce the winners of its 2016 Fellowship and Scholarship Program. Awarded annually, NRPA’s Young Professional Fellowship, Diversity Scholarship and Student Scholarship aim to inspire young professionals to participate in and pursue a future leadership role within NRPA — the leading organization for park and recreation professionals nationwide.

The 2016 fellowship and scholarship award winners include: 

  • NRPA Diversity Scholarship 
    • Reggie Davidson, Round Rock, Texas
    • Alexis R. Moreno, Boulder, Colo. 
     
  • NRPA Student Scholarship 
    • Austin Barrett, Pennsylvania State University, State College, Pa. 
    • Taylor Witter, Illinois State University, Arlington Heights, Ill.
     
  • NRPA Young Professional Fellowship
    • Brian Bevacqua, Fairlee, Vt.
    • Richard Fink, II, Greenbelt, Md.
    • Emily Louise Hiatt, Oklahoma City
    • Anthony Iracki, Milwaukee

“The future of our organization is dependent on the participation of today’s young professionals and students,” said Barbara Tulipane, NRPA President and CEO. “That’s why we are proud to offer a fellowship and scholarship program that provides an in-depth view of our organization and its governing bodies.” 

The award winners will be recognized at the 2016 NRPA Annual Conference where they will meet with NRPA leadership and attend various conference sessions and meetings with an assigned mentor.
